Heavy Rainfall Predicted in Thailand, Flood Risks in South

Date:

Thailand is bracing for a significant increase in rainfall from October 5 to 8, particularly affecting the Northeast and northern regions of the country. This weather change is attributed to shifts in monsoon patterns and winds over the Andaman Sea, the Gulf of Thailand, and surrounding areas, which are expected to bring cooler conditions in parts of the Northeast.

While upper Thailand might see fewer showers in the coming days, isolated thunderstorms remain a possibility. The southern regions of the country are forecast to experience heavy rainfall, raising concerns about potential flooding and related hazards in areas already impacted by accumulated rain.

The forecasted weather changes also include moderate waves in the upper Andaman Sea, with the potential for higher waves during thunderstorms. Consequently, marine operators have been advised to exercise caution and avoid areas where thunderstorms are occurring.
