In Hanoi, Vietnam’s highest-ranking Party and State officials paid homage to the country’s fallen heroes and President Hồ Chí Minh, commemorating the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day. This solemn occasion saw the presence of Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng, and National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn, who led the delegation in honoring Vietnam’s past sacrifices.

The ceremony began with the laying of wreaths at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs, a site dedicated to those who gave their lives for the nation’s freedom. Following this tribute, the leaders proceeded to pay their respects at the mausoleum of President Hồ Chí Minh, a pivotal figure in Vietnam’s struggle for independence. Here, they paused for a moment of silence, reflecting on the immense sacrifices made for the country’s sovereignty.

In their addresses, the nation’s leaders reiterated Vietnam’s unwavering dedication to supporting war veterans, the families of martyrs, and others who played crucial roles in the country’s revolutionary history. This commitment underscores a broader national effort to recognize and honor those who contributed to Vietnam’s independence and development.

Additionally, officials drew attention to the ongoing “500-day campaign,” an initiative aimed at locating, recovering, and identifying the remains of soldiers still missing from past conflicts. This campaign serves as a testament to Vietnam’s enduring sense of gratitude and responsibility towards those who sacrificed their lives in service of the nation. It reflects a deep-seated commitment to ensuring that the contributions of these individuals are neither forgotten nor unappreciated.
