Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, the First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, recently held a meeting with Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, Nguyen Huy Hiep, at the chamber’s headquarters in Lusail. Their discussions centered on bolstering economic and trade relations between Qatar and Vietnam, with a particular focus on enhancing cooperation between private sector companies from both nations.
During the meeting, Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to fostering stronger partnerships and joint ventures between Qatari and Vietnamese businesses. He commended Vietnam’s impressive economic growth, underscoring the potential for increased economic collaboration. Ambassador Nguyen Huy Hiep echoed this sentiment, expressing Vietnam’s eagerness to deepen economic ties with Qatar. He highlighted that bilateral trade between the two countries had surpassed $860 million in 2024, representing a $100 million increase from the previous year.
The ambassador extended an invitation to Qatari investors to explore various opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in sectors like agriculture, food processing, and halal products. He also emphasized the crucial role of Qatar Chamber in promoting Vietnamese agricultural and halal products in the Qatari market, thereby facilitating greater market access for Vietnamese goods.
In addition to these discussions, Ambassador Hiep invited Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to participate in the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City next September. This annual exhibition is a significant global trade event that focuses on sourcing, exports, and supply chain cooperation. It attracts international companies and industry leaders from various sectors, including food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics, providing a platform for expanding business networks and exploring new opportunities.
