Qatar-Thailand Aim to Boost Economic Partnership and Trade Opportunities

In an effort to bolster trade and investment ties, Qatar and Thailand recently engaged in discussions to explore avenues for enhanced economic collaboration. The meeting, held in Bangkok, brought together prominent business figures including Mohammed bin Twar Al Kuwari, First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber, and key officials from Thailand’s Board of Trade such as Songsang Patavanich and Jarudol Tulayakijja.

The dialogue focused on strategies to elevate trade and investment cooperation, emphasizing the pivotal role of business organizations in fostering partnerships, facilitating business interactions, and supporting joint ventures between enterprises from both nations. Al Kuwari underscored the robust economic relationship shared by Qatar and Thailand, citing a bilateral trade volume of approximately QR12.4 billion in 2025. He stressed the significance of private-sector collaboration as a catalyst for future economic growth, driven by strategic partnerships and investment initiatives in emerging sectors.

Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the crucial function of chambers of commerce in bridging businesses, disseminating market knowledge, and pinpointing new investment prospects that could enhance long-term economic collaboration between the two countries.
