New Kyoto-Awaji Bus Route Boosts Tourism and Local Economy for Shinobi-Zato

Date:

Starting July 1, 2026, travelers from Kyoto heading to the “NARUTO&BORUTO Shinobi-Zato” anime attraction on Awaji Island will benefit from a new direct bus service package. This offering combines a round-trip highway bus journey between Kyoto Station and Awaji I.C. with entry to the attraction, providing a seamless day-trip experience for both local and international visitors without the hassle of transfers.

The bus ride from Kyoto to Awaji Island spans approximately 90 minutes, treating passengers to scenic views of bridges and the sea en route to the anime-themed destination. Once there, visitors can enjoy the “Heaven’s Scroll (Ten no Maki)” three-dimensional maze and the “Earth Scroll (Chi no Maki)” mission rally, both included with the admission ticket. Available for weekday travel only, and excluding major holiday periods, the package is priced at 8,200 yen for adults and 4,250 yen for children, taxes included. Tickets can be purchased online, with a subsequent exchange needed at the Kyoto Bus Ticket Center.

“NARUTO&BORUTO Shinobi-Zato” brings to life the world of the beloved ninja anime series, featuring attractions modeled after the Hidden Leaf Village, along with character exhibits, training activities, and interactive elements. This attraction is nestled within Nijigen no Mori, a park that blends Japanese anime culture with outdoor entertainment, offering an immersive experience that captures the essence of the anime’s universe.

Nijigen no Mori, located on Awaji Island, hosts attractions inspired by various popular Japanese entertainment franchises, providing visitors with engaging experiences in a picturesque island environment. The introduction of the direct bus service from Kyoto is anticipated to enhance accessibility for anime enthusiasts and tourists seeking a distinctive summer travel experience in Japan.
